2013 Fort Collins Fire - Soldier Canyon fire

My first thought was "Here we go again!" I really hope that I'm wrong, but this year may be a lot like last year with all of the fires in Colorado. It's already March and we have our first real fire of 2013; the Soldier Canyon Fire in Fort Collins.

The fire is a little bit south of Lory State Park and is right next to last year's High Park Fire. Currently, the fire is unconstrained  but it's mainly due to the high winds that we have in Fort Collins all afternoon. The current site of the fire is currently at 200 acres and spreading. The firefighters are trying to keep the fire from spreading because of the numerous houses in the ares.

This winter has been extremely dry and I'm hoping that we can still have a wet spring to lower the possibility of fires this summers. The fires that we had all throughout the state last year really hurt Fort Collins RV Dealers, Fort Collins RVing, but most importantly the health of those throughout Colorado.

Last year's fires not only took hundred's of homes throughout the Colorado front range, but they also caused quite a bit of health issues due to the smoke inhalation aspect. Fort Collins and the rest of Colorado needs a little bit of a break to catch our breath again.

Let's hope that 2013 is a better year!
